LOUISIANA COMMUNITY CARE specializes in providing services to individuals 18 and older with developmental, physical, and mental disabilities. LCC serves approximately 100 individuals in Region VI.
INDIVIDUAL FAMILY SUPPORTS
The Individual programs offer support to people and their families in their own home by providing up to 24-hour care. Personal Care Attendants (PCA’s) travel to each residence and assist people daily with skills such as personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, food preparation, budgeting, shopping, & providing transportation to and from doctor’s visits.
COMMUNITY CHOICE WAIVER & LT-PCS
These programs offer support to people and their families in their own homes. Personal Care Attendants (PCA’s) travel to each residence and assist people daily with skills such as personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, housekeeping, food preparation, budgeting, shopping, and providing transportation for recipients to and from doctor’s appointments..
DAY HABILITATION PROGRAM
The Adult Day Program offers therapeutic and habilitation services, vocational training, and job placement in a variety of settings. Each participant receives individualized job training and instruction, and is paid commensurate according to his or her individual perform-ance level. Through this program, people obtain job skills that, when mastered, may be applied to competitive employment settings.
SENIOR ADULT SERVICE PROGRAM
SASP was developed for elderly or retired individuals and is a day program alternative to work or vocational training. SASP participants practice memory & mental trace exercises to increase cognitive functioning & prevent memory loss. Other activities include music therapy, light aerobic activity, arts & crafts, movies, & community outings.
SUPERVISED INDEPENDENT LIVING
The SIL Program offers 24-hour supervision within a person’s own home. The program is designed to be an alternative to nursing home placement or institutionalization. Services include transportation, vocational training/job placement, & recreational activities. Instruction & assistance is provided for budgeting, meal planning & preparation, and self-administering medication.
Louisiana Community Care owns 5 community homes providing 24-hour supervised care in a structured setting for people with developmental disabilities. Participants learn skills such as budgeting, shopping, personal safety, cooking, self-medicating, & housekeeping. Participants are encouraged to select his or her own personal goals and learning choices.
